Leadership Development

Leadership is learned.

A title can give someone authority and responsibility. It does not automatically prepare them to lead.

Founders and leaders are expected to make hard decisions, communicate expectations, address performance, navigate conflict, and guide other people, often without ever being taught how.

Some are leading people for the first time. Others have been leading for years, but their role and what the company needs from them have changed.

Orbsi helps founders and leaders prepare for the decisions, conversations, and responsibilities their roles require.

We do not believe in generic leadership training.

We focus on what the person is facing, what their role requires, and where they need help.

You do not have to develop every leader in your company yourself.

You may feel like helping your leaders grow should be your responsibility.

But you may not have the time or experience to prepare someone for a new role or help them with every part of leading people.

That does not mean their growth has to stop or that you have to figure it out alone.

Orbsi works directly with you or someone on your team around the real people, decisions, conversations, and responsibilities they are handling inside the company.

That may include helping them:

You can stay involved in your leaders' growth without being the only person responsible for it.

Leadership Development for You and Your Team

01

Founder Leadership Development(One-on-one coaching)

One-on-one support for founders who are learning how to lead through other people, not just execute the work themselves.

As your company grows, your role changes. You are no longer only responsible for having the idea, making the decision, or getting the work done. You also have to communicate the direction clearly, help other people understand why it matters, and get them to follow through.

That may mean learning how to:

  • turn an idea in your head into clear direction someone else can act on
  • get buy-in instead of simply telling people what to do
  • lead with kindness without becoming too passive
  • set expectations clearly and address it when they are not met
  • hold people responsible without taking the work back over
  • stop letting difficult conversations go on too long
  • change your focus as more of the day-to-day work moves to other people
  • spend less time executing and more time directing, developing, and deciding

The work helps you lead from the role you want to have now while preparing for the role you want in the future.

One-on-One Leadership Development(For managers, executives, and people preparing to lead)

One-on-one support for people who are already leading others or preparing to take on more responsibility.

That may include helping them:

  • Communicate expectations clearly
  • Prepare for difficult conversations
  • Address performance concerns sooner
  • Give useful feedback
  • Delegate work without losing track of it
  • Navigate conflict between employees
  • Lead meetings that end with clear decisions and follow-through
  • Make decisions without bringing every question back to someone else
  • Coach employees instead of immediately solving the problem for them
  • Adjust as their role and responsibilities grow

The work is based on what they are actually facing, not a general leadership curriculum.
This service is also available to leaders working within corporate environments.

Right-Hand Hiring and Development(Hiring support + ongoing development)

Few hiring decisions have a greater impact on a founder's future than choosing the person who will become their right hand.

This person may become the connection between you and the rest of the company. The right person can lead managers, make decisions, keep people accountable, and take responsibility for work that previously came back to you.

The wrong person can create more confusion, slow decisions down, and pull you even further into the day-to-day.

Because this role matters so much, we help you determine what you need, evaluate the people you are considering, and prepare the person you choose for the role.

That may include helping you:

  • Determine whether you are ready for a right-hand person
  • Define what the person will be responsible for
  • Identify the experience and qualities they need
  • Decide whether someone already on your team could grow into the role
  • Evaluate internal and external candidates
  • Clarify which decisions they can make without you
  • Establish what should still come back to you
  • Decide how the two of you will communicate and work together
  • Support them as they begin taking on the role

Our involvement does not have to end once the person is hired or promoted. We can continue working directly with them as they begin leading others, making decisions, and taking responsibility for more of the company.

Client Experiences

What founders say after working with us.

Karyss

It was very obvious to us being gone for 2 weeks that your coaching has been paying off in how the team handled situations without us. We appreciate you so much and were so grateful to go on vacation and trust the processes that have been set up and the leaders that are being developed. I would love to continue to eliminate as many bottlenecks as possible!

Shawna

Working with Danielle helped me realize that my desire to do the hands-on work was actually rooted in a desire to stay in control and a fear of stepping into leadership. Once I was able to work through that, I took the plunge into the leadership role my business needed me to be in. That experience alone was incredibly empowering for me and helped build my confidence as a leader. It also made me think, ‘This is how I want my team to feel’.

You Do Not Have to Figure This Out Alone

Whether you are working on how you lead, developing someone on your team, or deciding who should become your right hand, you do not have to determine the entire path before reaching out.

We can talk through what is happening, what the role requires, and where support would be most useful.
